Spring 2011 Interior Design Trends

Today is April Fools Day, one of my very favorite days of the year.  I got up early and managed to pull off two great pranks on Keiko and Taji before I even left for work.  They came off without a hitch.  It’s going to be a great day

April makes me think of spring and of course this is the purrrrfect time of year for a home makeover.

Pantone the world renowned authority on color, recently released the 2011 color of the year, Honeysuckle 18-2120.  A vibrant pinkish-red that shows the spirit of spring (and makes me think of a big luscious shrimp).  I say two paws up for this energizing color that lifts the spirits and imparts confidence to meet life’s ongoing challenges.

I encourage you to use this trendy, festive color somewhere in your makeover.  Keep in mind a pet friendly home considers the needs of pets and their parents. So while your parents are painting accent walls and choosing new bedding and accessories, you should be boning up on your style and choosing some tail wagging accessories of your own.  Think new bed, a cool new bowl or even a cat tree.

Make sure that your style complements your parents style so that the design flows from room to room.  This might be a good time to consider having a niche designed in the kitchen for food dishes or a section of cabinetry dedicated to food and toy storage.  The pawsabilities are endless.

Discover the new hot trends and renew your creative spirit.  Turbo’s blog is where you will want to be throughout the month of April.

Well until next time remember……………..The best things in life are furry.
